Utility
Utility is a precise, problem-solving effect for everyday mixing tasks. From stereo widening and bass centering to simple gain control, it provides the tools you need to keep your mix balanced and controlled.
What does the Utility do?
Utility is an audio effect designed to make practical adjustments to your audio. It doesn’t add character or color; instead, it gives you precise control over stereo imaging, low-end focus, channel balance, and output level.
Use it to collapse a track to mono, widen the stereo field, center the bass, or adjust the gain of a signal. Utility is also useful for problem-solving, such as correcting phase issues or removing DC offset. Presets are included to make common tasks even faster.

Parameters
Stereo image
Channel mode: Choose between Stereo (default), Left, Right, or Swap. This lets you collapse the sound to one channel or flip the stereo image.
Width: Controls the stereo spread. At 0% the sound is fully mono. 100% leaves the stereo image unchanged. Higher values make the sound wider than the original.
ØL / ØR (Phase invert left/right): Invert the phase of either channel. Useful for fixing phase cancellation problems or for creative stereo effects.
Bass
Cutoff: Sets the frequency below which the sound will be forced to mono. This is often used to keep sub-bass centered and consistent.
Mono: Toggles the mono bass processing on or off. When enabled, frequencies below the cutoff will play in mono.
Channel
Pan: Moves the signal left or right in the stereo field.
Strip DC: Removes any DC offset from the signal, preventing issues with headroom and metering.
Output
Gain: Adjusts the output volume of the signal. Useful for gain staging without affecting the tone.
Mute: Instantly silences the signal.
